A former employee from Westfield State University claims she faced sexual harassment from a co-worker and that the university allegedly failed to create a safe environment for her to remain working there, according to a civil lawsuit filed in Hampden Superior Court.
Deborah St. Peter, a West Springfield resident, claims in a civil lawsuit that from the second day of working in the universitys Trades Department, she began receiving daily unwanted comments of a sexual nature from her male co-worker who was supposed to train her starting in July 2018.
The civil trial for the case began on Monday in Hampden Superior Court where St. Peter took to the witness stand and spoke about her experiences working at Westfield State.
