Kevin Spacey has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges at Southwark Crown Court in south London.

Appearing via videolink under his full name – Kevin Spacey Fowler – the two-time Oscar winner wore a pink tie, a light blue shirt and black blazer for Friday’s hearing.

The 63-year-old spoke to formally enter his pleas to the charges relating to a new complainant.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2001 and 2005, and include three of indecent assault, three of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

They take the total number of charges faced by the actor to 12.

In July, Spacey appeared at the Old Bailey and denied five allegations relating to three men who are now in their 30s and 40s. The alleged offences are said to have occurred in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013.

Spacey was granted unconditional bail and will face a four-week trial on all charges beginning 6 June.

A pre-trial review will take place on 5 April.

Spacey is best known for starring in American Beauty, The Usual Suspects and House of Cards.

He was artistic director at the Old Vic between 2004 and 2015.
