Police are appealing to the public to locate a wanted man who was released from prison “in error”.
Rayon Newby, 20, was serving a sentence for assault, harassment and burglary at HMP Thameside, Greenwich, south east London, until he was released on 17 March.
Police did not explain further on the “error” that led to his accidental release, but are appealing to the public to help locate him.
He has links to Tower Hamlets and Ilford, both in east London.

Police described him as around “5ft 10in tall, of heavy build and a pierced left ear”. He speaks with a London accent.
If seen, the public are asked not to approach Newby, but contact police.
