Taylor Swift announces more UK tour dates in 2024

Taylor Swift has announced new dates for the UK leg of her world tour next year.

Due to “phenomenal demand” new shows in Liverpool, Edinburgh and London have been added to the singer’s schedule.

Swift will play extra shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Sunday 9 June, Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on Thursday 13 June, and Wembley Stadium on Sunday 23 June.

The Cruel Summer singer also revealed 00s emo icons Paramore will join her for the European leg of the Eras tours.

The latest dates add to an already bulging schedule for the singer, which will include stops in Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Vienna, among others.

However, the announcement of additional shows has poured water over rumours Swift could have been booked to play Glastonbury next year, with the gaps on her schedule that lined up with the 2024 festival now filled up.

Swift, 33, had been due to headline the festival in 2020, until the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news comes as hundreds of thousands of UK fans wait for presale codes for the tour, hoping to be among the first to get their hands on tickets for Swift’s European tour.

Fans will have until the 14 July if they’re one of the lucky ones, to confirm the show they’re aiming for, before tickets go on sale on 18 July.

Shows in the US sold out almost instantly when they went on sale, despite multiple dates in almost every corner of the country.

That’s despite chaos at Ticketmaster, with fans saying they were repeatedly kicked off the site, left waiting hours in queues, and in some cases, had their tickets cancelled.

Her show has won plaudits since it began, with Swift performing more than 40 tracks a night from across her extensive back catalogue, and even finding time to bring guests (including the likes of HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers and Marcus Mumford) on and perform what have been known as “secret songs”.

The tour also coincides with her efforts to re-record most of her back catalogue, after a dispute with major music producer Scooter Braun, who owned, before selling, her previous master recordings, meaning she was unable to make money from them.

Her latest re-recording, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released on Friday, and features tracks such as Enchanted, Mean and Dear John – thought to be about the singer John Mayer.
