Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney say they are “so grateful” after their Welcome To Wrexham documentary about buying the football club secured six Emmy nominations.
Responding to the news of the nominations on Twitter, Reynolds said he “can’t wait for season two”, which is expected to be released later in the year.

The six nominations include outstanding unstructured reality programme, outstanding picture editing for an unstructured reality programme and outstanding cinematography for a reality programme.
The series has also been nominated for outstanding sound mixing for a reality programme (single or multi-camera), outstanding directing for a reality programme and outstanding sound editing for a non-fiction or reality programme (single or multi-camera).
In a post shared by the pair, McElhenney and Reynolds, who bought the North Wales club in 2020, said: “The story of Wrexham has resonated with millions of people because you don’t have to be Welsh or a football fan to be moved by this town.
“We are so grateful for today’s six Emmy nominations and are continuously honoured the people of Wrexham allow us to tell their tale.”
