Teenager charged following alleged rape in Dundee car park

A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an alleged rape in a Dundee city centre car park.

An 18-year-old woman was reportedly attacked in Johnston Street at around 2.40am last Sunday.

Police Scotland subsequently launched a manhunt and announced on Friday a suspect had been arrested and charged.

A force spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged serious sexual assault of a woman in Dundee on Sunday 13 August 2023.

“He has been released on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
