Colorado coach Deion Sanders confirmed Travis Hunter is out for Saturday’s game against Oregon and condemned the recent death threats against Colorado State‘s Henry Blackburn for his hit on the Buffaloes’ two-way star.

Sanders confirmed Hunter suffered a lacerated liver on the hit by Blackburn during Saturday’s overtime victory over the Rams. Hunter was released from the hospital Monday and is back at his home, according to Sanders, who reiterated that the sophomore is out “at least” through Saturday’s showdown against the Ducks.

Sanders also was asked Tuesday about Blackburn and the threats against the Colorado State defensive back and his family.

“He does not deserve death threats over a game,” said Sanders, who later added that Colorado has forgiven Blackburn.

“I forgive him,” Sanders said. “Our team forgives him. Travis has forgiven him. Let’s move on.”

Colorado State athletic director Joe Parker told ESPN on Monday that university police and local authorities have looked into the against Blackburn. Parker said cellphone numbers for Blackburn and for his mother were published on the internet late Saturday night. Blackburn’s campus address and his family’s home address also got published, according to Parker.

“We’re very concerned about our player’s safety, as Henry and his family have continued to receive these threats,” Parker told ESPN. “Henry never intended to put anyone in harm’s way on the football field.”
