Police in East Sussex are treating the death of a man hit and killed by a car as murder.
The 24-year-old was hit by a black vehicle in Diplocks Walk in Hailsham at around 11pm on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
They said the victim’s next of kin had been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Sussex Police said “both the vehicle and the suspect remain outstanding at this time”.
Detective chief inspector Andy Harbour said: “This is a fast-moving investigation and we are working around the clock to establish exactly what happened.
“There were a number of people in the area around the time of the incident, and I am urging anyone with any information to please come forward.”
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with any footage captured on devices like a mobile phone, CCTV or a dashcam.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this difficult time,” Mr Harbour added.
