Man arrested in Cumbria on suspicion of murder after Christmas Day death

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a death in Cumbria on Christmas Day.

Police were called shortly before 5.55pm on 25 December to an address on Clay Street in Workington after a man in his 30s was found dead by North West Ambulance crews at his home.

A murder investigation has been launched, and a cordon remains in place as officers continue their enquiries.

Another cordon was also in place on South Watt Street.

The suspect is currently in police custody.

Police said the public may see an increased police presence in the area as a result.

They urged anyone with any information to contact them as soon as possible.
