Lucy Charles: North Wales Police ‘concerned’ for woman, 39, missing for two weeks – after belongings found

Police are “increasingly concerned” for the safety of a 39-year-old woman who has been missing for two weeks.

Lucy Charles has been missing from the Bangor-on-Dee area, Wrexham, since 22 December.

North Wales Police have conducted “extensive” searches for Ms Charles and personal items of hers have been found on the bank of the River Dee, close to the Severn Trent Water Treatment Works.

Ms Charles has been described as approximately 5ft 6 inches tall, with shoulder-length brown hair and glasses.

She was last seen on CCTV walking past the Royal Oak pub on Station Road at 5.34pm on the day she went missing.

She was wearing a navy padded coat, a hi-vis vest, khaki leggings and black boots.

Chief Inspector Stephen Roberts said it had been a “particularly difficult time for Lucy’s family, especially given that we just had the festive period”.

He thanked everyone who had assisted with the searches “in difficult weather and water conditions”.

The force is asking anyone who was in Bangor-on-Dee during that period if they saw Ms Charles.

Officers are urging people not to venture near the River Dee at this time as it is in a “very dangerous state of flooding”.

“Our searches continue and Lucy’s family are being kept informed,” the chief inspector added.

“Finally, my thoughts remain with Lucy’s family at this difficult time.”
