“Extremely concerned” police investigating the disappearance of a woman who has not been in touch with her family since November are checking a potential sighting.

Khasha Smith, 35, was reported missing from the Calder area of Edinburgh on Friday.

Police Scotland said concerns were raised by her family, who have not heard from her since Saturday 4 November 2023.

Following a public appeal, the force said it is checking a potential sighting in the Slateford area of the capital between 21 and 24 November.

Officers are said to be reviewing any relevant CCTV footage in the hope it will provide additional information on where Ms Smith has gone.

Inspector Keith Forrester said: “We are extremely concerned for Khasha.

“She normally maintains contact with her family and it is unusual for her to not be in touch for this length of time.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Khasha or who may have any information which could assist in us locating her to get in touch.

“Please don’t think what you know is irrelevant. Let us decide its significance – your information could be vital in helping us trace Khasha.”
