White Lotus: New cast member joins third season after location announced

Another new cast member is set to join White Lotus after the show’s recent reveal of the location for the third series.

Carrie Coon, star of HBO series The Gilded Age, will appear alongside the likes of Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs.

The latest story will based in Thailand, with HBO and Thai tourism authorities both confirming the location.

They said filming was set to begin in February in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok.

Others joining the cast include Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong.

Series three will also see the return of Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey in the first series set in Hawaii.

Plot details are under wraps for now, but writer Mike White has promised it will be “longer, bigger, crazier”.

Coon – the latest name announced – plays Bertha Russell in New York period drama The Gilded Age.

She’s also appeared in supernatural drama The Leftovers, as well as film roles in the likes of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Gone Girl.

More names are set to follow.

White Lotus’s exotic locations and intriguing plot have helped it become a big success with viewers and critics.

Each season centres on the guests and staff at a luxury resort, with the second instalment following Hawaii with a trip to Sicily.

Most of the cast changed, but fan favourite Jennifer Coolidge had a lead role in both.

The show won 10 Emmy awards for its premiere season and was nominated for 23 for the second – which came out in December 2022.

White Lotus is available in the UK on Sky.
