Hollywood is mourning the loss of Adan Canto, a popular, 42-year-old actor who has appeared in hit shows like “Designated Survivor” and “The Cleaning Lady.”

Listen to them on the latest episode of Quick Start ?

Canto died Jan. 8 of appendiceal cancer, a disease the National Cancer Institute calls “very rare.” Appendiceal cancer grows from the cells that are part of the appendix.

The actor, who privately battled the disease, is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two small children, Roman Alder, 3, and Eve Josephine, 1, according to Deadline.

“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew,” a representative for Canto said in a statement. “Those who glimpsed it were changed forever.” View this post on Instagram

Stephanie Ann Canto posted a touching tribute to her husband on Instagram after his death with announced. In addition to a photo of her and her late husband, she shared powerful words from Matthew 6:19-21:

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

The grieving wife then finished her post with a message for her husband.

“Forever my treasure, Adan,” Canto wrote. “See you soon.”

In the past, the actor has spoken about the value of life and family. While promoting his 2020 film “2 Hearts,” he told The Christian Post what he believes is significant about the text of Romans 8:28, which proclaims “all things work together for good.”

With so much chaos in society and the world at the time, Canto gave his assessment. View this post on Instagram

“It’s a thick pill to swallow and to really understand that [verse], he told the outlet. I think it’s important to have a bird’s eye view of life, of history, of reality, and have a little bit of humility. I’m speaking also for myself.”

He continued, “This is something that I admit I don’t embody every day, but it’s certainly something I want to strive to do, to really understand what place we hold in history, in time, in life. The way I try to view it is just trying to gather the best lessons that you can and try to come better out the other side.”

As for faith, Canto said he believes it is “fundamental” and that there is peace in the knowledge there is “vast wisdom” behind all that unfolds on earth. View this post on Instagram

“That alone should give us a lot of peace of mind, knowing that there is a higher wisdom behind it all,” he told The Christian Post. “What we know or think we know, is may be just a speck. Have the strength to let go, and trust, and know that in the end it’s for a greater plan.”

Continue to pray for his wife, children, and all those mourning his untimely death.
