A four-month-old baby has died after a collision between a van and a taxi in Leeds.

A Vauxhall Vivaro van was involved in a head-on crash with a Toyota Auris on Monday afternoon.

It happened on the A1620 Horsforth New Road near Rodley at about 4.55pm.

The child suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, but died on Wednesday.

Two women in the car and a man who was in the van were also treated in hospital.

A 54-year-old man, who was driving the van, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was released on bail on Wednesday as enquiries continue.
