Oregon’s ‘Gang Green’ threads among the best Week 1 uniform combinations

College football action is back for Week 1 and the uniform heat continued where it left off.

The No. 3 Oregon Ducks are known for their iconic and unduplicated uniforms. In their Week 1 match against the Idaho Vandals, the Ducks will wear their “Gang Green” threads that feature a logo patch on the shoulder of their classic Duck mascot logo.

The No. 22-ranked Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Lindenwood Lions 48-3 while hosting the game in Kansas City, Kansas, at Sporting Kansas City’s stadium.

Sporting KC‘s team colors are baby blue and navy. To pay homage to the soccer club, the Jayhawks rocked an icy blue uniform in the win.

Here are the top uniform combinations for Week 1 of college football.

White out

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are on a high after upsetting the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles in Dublin on a walk-off field goal. The Yellow Jackets will face the crosstown rival Georgia State Panthers in their icy white uniforms.

The UNLV Rebels will travel south to face the Houston Cougars, with hopes of bringing the Sin City vibe to Space City with a clean all-white uniform.

Flashy combinations

The West Virginia Mountaineers will host the powerhouse No. 8 Penn State Nittany Lions in search of redemption from their 2023 season debut, when they fell to Penn State 38-15. The Mountaineers will look to do so in style with their gold jerseys and navy blue pants.

Week 2 marks the start of the UTSA Roadrunners‘ two-game road trip that features their I-35 showdown against the Texas State Bobcats and then a Week 3 visit to the No. 4 Texas Longhorns. But before they travel, the Roadrunners are starting their season with an elegant look, rocking an orange-on-orange combination at home against the Kennesaw State Owls.

The No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies put the “college” into college football. But they will have quite a load to lift in Week 1 against Marcus Freeman and the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Aggies’ Saturday quest for an upset is spearheaded by their maroon jerseys, white pants and a white helmet to put it all together.
