Tesla has confirmed that it produced its 7 millionth electric car yesterday — a great milestone for a company that greatly accelerated the electrification of the auto industry.

Tesla produced its millionth vehicle back in early 2020 after 16 years of existence.

In the next 4 years, it managed to produce 6 million more electric vehicles.

That’s quite impressive.

Today, with the release of its Q4 2024 financial results, Tesla announced that it produced its 7 millionth electric vehicle:

We also produced our 7-millionth vehicle October 22nd.

The vehicle in question was seemingly produced at the Fremont factory, based on the image shared by Tesla above.

But the biggest contributor to Tesla’s growth is Gigafactory Shanghai, which also recently achieved its own milestone.

Tesla said that it produced its 3 millionth vehicle this month:

The Shanghai factory recently achieved two notable milestones: producing its 3-millionth vehicle in October and exporting its 1-millionth vehicle in September.

Again, Tesla’s growth has been impressive over the last few years. The automaker produced its 4 millionth car in March 2023 and then its 5th million car in September 2023.

However, the growth has disappeared in 2024 and Tesla now expects to deliver roughly the same number of cars this year as it did last.

Nonetheless, it’s impressive for a single company to have deployed 7 million all-electric vehicles. No other automaker can say that.
