The most affordable, longest-range Polestar 3 luxury electric SUV model is now officially made in the US. The Polestar 3 Long range Single motor is available to order for under $70,000 with up to 350 miles range.
The cheapest Polestar 3 luxury SUV enters US production
The luxury Polestar 3 electric SUV has been on sale in the US since this summer, but only as a Long range Dual motor model.
Last month, Polestar introduced the new Long-range single-motor entry-level variant with more range and a considerably lower price tag. The new Polestar 3 model starts at $67,500 and has an EPA-estimated range of up to 350 miles. Considering the Dual Motor model starts at $73,400 and has a range of up to 315 miles, the new variant is a much better deal.
Polestar has been building the electric SUV at its shared plant with Volvo in Charleston, SC, since August, but the company announced its new variant joined the production line on Thursday.
The new variant means “our full-sized flagship electric SUV means Polestar 3 is now accessible to even more consumers, Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller said. He added, “With the start of production of our Long range Single motor Polestar 3 in the US, we will now begin to deliver this car directly to North American customers.”
Polestar’s entry-level electric SUV is $6,400 cheaper than the current base model. Powered by a single rear motor, the new Polestar 3 variant packs 295 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, with only one motor, it loses some performance with a 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 7.5 seconds. The AWD model can hit 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. For even more power, you can opt for the Performance Pack, which delivers up to 517 hp and 671 lb-ft of torque for a 0 to 60 mph time in just 4.5 seconds.
The interior maintains its premium feel with a 14.5″ LED infotainment and 9″ driver display. Rear passengers also get an added climate control screen.
Like the Dual Motor model, Polestar’s new RWD variant can fast charge (10% to 80%) in 30 minutes with a charging rate of up to 250 kW.
Polestar’s new model arrives after the company recently announced that drivers can now order NACS plugs to access Tesla’s Supercharger network.
