Who said Ford’s electric crossover SUV wasn’t a real Mustang? The Mach-E outsold the gas-powered Ford Mustang for the first time last year as one of the top-selling EVs in the US.

Every Ford EV model set a new sales record in 2024 with double-digit growth. After setting a new quarterly record with 30,176 EVs sold in the fourth quarter, Ford’s total US electric vehicle sales rose to 97,865 in 2024, an increase of 34.8% from 2023.
The Mustang Mach-E had its best sales quarter since launching in late 2020, with 16,119 models sold in Q4. With 51,745 Mach-Es sold last year, it was the second-best-selling electric SUV in the US, behind the Tesla Model Y.
Even more impressive, the Mach-E outsold every gas-powered Ford Mustang model in 2024. Ford sold just over 48,600 gas Mustangs last year, down 9.5% from 2023.
With sales up 27% year over year, Ford’s EV is officially the best-selling Mustang. In a statement, Ford said that “customers favored Ford’s electrified vehicles in 2024, driving growth and setting record sales for the year.”

Ford EV sales in Q4 and full-year 2024
In 2024, Ford sold nearly 285,300 ” electrified ” vehicles, including electric vehicles (EV), hybrids (HEV), and plug-in hybrids (PHEV), more than GM and Stellantis.
After its best EV sales quarter in Q4, Ford extended its “Power Promise” promotion. The program gives all new EV buyers a free Level 2 home charger, and Ford is covering the cost of standard installation.

Ford’s Power Promise is designed to show the true benefits of driving an electric car, like waking up with a full charge every morning. In addition, Ford is easing any concerns about going electric with 24/7 live EV support and proactive roadside assistance. The program now runs through March 31, 2025.
