Emergency teams responding after plane crash in Toronto

A plane has crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport and injured eight people – with local media reporting it flipped on landing.

Images from the airport show the snow-covered plane upside down on the tarmac.

A total of eight people have been injured, Canada’s CP24 Media reports.

One person is critically injured while the others have suffered mild to moderate injuries, Peel regional paramedic services supervisor Lawrence Saindon said.

Canada Police has said it does not know the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The airport posted on X that the incident involved a plane arriving at the international airport from Minneapolis.

“Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the statement added.

Delta has said it is aware of reports of an incident involving an a flight on Endeavor Air, one of its subsidiaries.

The airport had posted images on X after 53cm of snow fell over the past week.

Prior to the crash, dozens of departures and arrivals at the airport had been delayed due to bad weather.
