It’s been almost four years since Ford introduced the F-150 Lightning. Since then, the electric pickup has gained new features and trims, like the “Flash,” with Ford’s latest tech.

After listening to buyers, Ford is rolling out even more upgrades this year. The 2025 Ford Lightning now has a maximum DC fast-charging current of 500 amps, up from 450 amps in the outgoing model. Ford added several new features to make it even easier for you to charge up.

For one, you can now access charging information in real time to see things like charging speeds. You can also set a universal charge limit for all locations and schedule charge times at certain stations.

Earlier this month, Ford fulfilled its promise, shipping out 140,000 free NACS Adapters for EV owners to access Tesla’s Supercharging network. Owners can buy Ford’s new Fast Charging NACS Adapter for $200.

The 2025 F-150 Lightning also gains a new “Dark Elements” appearance package. Available on the Platinum series, it includes 22″ black painted wheels, black Ford ovals and badging, and a stealthy black interior design.

You can see the added design elements in the new White Space paint shown above. Ford said, “Our customers love their white trucks,” with over a quarter of Lightning owners opting for some shade of white.

The 2025 F-150 Lightning has Ford’s updated BlueCruise 1.4 available, which provides a “smooth, more natural hands-free highway driving experience.” The system can now adjust speed while on curves with more in-lane stability.
