Genesis is preparing to shake up the luxury market with its new flagship three-row electric SUV, the GV90. It will be the largest and most luxurious Genesis EV yet (with coach doors and more). Here’s what we know about the Genesis GV90 EV and its upcoming debut.
Genesis GV90 EV to debut at the New York Auto Show
Last March, Genesis revealed the Neolun concept, previewing its full-size luxury electric SUV. Based on Korean minimalist design, the concept is Genesis’ “ultra-luxe vision of luxury SUVs.” Now, it’s about to reveal the real thing.
Genesis is expected to unveil the production model, the GV90 EV, at the 2025 New York Auto Show, which starts next week on April 18.
In an interview with AutoExpress this week, Genesis’ director of design, Luc Donckerwolke, hinted at its imminent debut.

When asked what vehicles we can expect to see at the event, Donckerwolke said, “You have seen it already with the Neolun concept, which is a new flagship of the brand. Which will be the new flagship of the brand.”
Although four-door sedans typically take the flagship spot, “now we have SUVs that are becoming flagships, too,” he added.
Genesis plans to have several flagship models, and it’s about ready “to put them into production,” the luxury brand’s design boss said.
Unlike Hyundai and Kia, Genesis is not “chasing volume, but rather profitability and prestige.” Ahead of the GV90 EV’s debut, Genesis has launched a new campaign, “Blank Canvas,” which gives us a closer look at the stunning Neolun concept.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen the GV90 EV a few times in public. Most recently, it was spotted with actual coach doors, which is expected to be offered in a higher “exclusive” trim.
Genesis is expected to begin Gv90 production in early 2026. Prices and final specs will be revealed closer to launch, but the flagship model will include Hyundai’s latest connectivity and software tech.
