P&O Sackings: ‘We chose not to consult’ with unions

The Chief Executive of P&O Ferries has been faced tough questions from MPs after the controversial sacking of nearly 800 workers.

Peter Hebblethwaite told the Business and Transport Select Committees there was “absolutely no doubt” P&O Ferries was required to consult with trades unions before making the cuts – but “chose not to”.
