Sixthreezero’s wide range of electric bike models includes some fairly out-there models, but the company’s new four-wheeled electric bike really charts a new direction in the industry. Take a look at the new ANYterrain Stabilized 4-wheel Electric Bike.

It’s a mouthful of a name, but the ANYterrain Stabilized 4-wheel Electric Bike hauls more than just a bunch of extra words. The bike is rated to carry up to 350 lb (159 kg), and the 750W motor ensures it has the power to do so. With speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h), the quad bike is just as fast as most Class 1 and 2 e-bikes.

But the real game changer here is the design, offering four-wheeled stability that riders can’t get from a conventional three-wheeled trike.

Not only do four wheels provide better stability with a wider footprint, but the steering on the bike uses leaning geometry to take turns more naturally, helping riders feel even more stable.

With 20″ wheels in the rear and 16″ wheels in the front, the quad bike keeps a fairly low center of gravity. All four wheels use 4″ fat tires for better offroad riding and more comfortable shock absorption compared to narrow tires, and the rear wheels even feature a differential to better apply the motor’s power to the ground.

A twist throttle makes it easy to roll on that power, and a D/R switch on the bars lets riders put it in reverse for cases where they need a little help wiggling around in tight spaces. Pedaling backward from a stop can also engage the reverse. At 120 lbs (54 kg), this isn’t the type of bike you can just pick up and move around the garage without a little help so that reverse feature will likely come in handy.

A 48V and 20Ah battery offers 960Wh of capacity, which the company says translates into a range of up to 50 miles (80 km).

The battery is housed under a cargo basket in the rear, though a bench seat can be swapped for the basket, allowing riders to carry a passenger with them.

Electrek’s Take

This certainly won’t be a mass market type of e-bike, but I can see a real use case for neighborhood riding and local errands, especially for folks who don’t feel stable on a bicycle or even a trike.

Despite trikes offering great stability when going straight, some people can feel uncomfortable making turns on a trike, especially at higher speeds, because they can sometimes feel tippy under certain scenarios. This quad bike can still tip if you take a turn sharp enough, but the wider stance combined with the leaning steering means riders will even more stable than on a trike.

And since this will likely be used more by older riders, the reverse is an important feature for letting folks park the bike easily without dismounting and dragging it around.

There could be some legal hurdles in some areas that define “bicycles” as having either two or three wheels, but I’m guessing most cops aren’t jumping at the opportunity to ticket grandma for riding her quad bike on the local rails to trails network.

I love seeing more options like this, and I commend Sixthreezero for providing such interesting options to add to the market.

Hyundai launches aggressive IONIQ 5 discounts in Korea as EV sales slump

Hyundai introduced significant discounts on its top-selling EVs, including the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona Electric, in South Korea to overcome slumping sales. With government incentives, the IONIQ 5 now starts at just over $30,500 in Hyundai’s home market. Although demand remains strong in the US, Hyundai is still offering big savings opportunities.

Hyundai ramps up EV discounts in South Korea

On Wednesday, Hyundai launched a new EV discount promotion in Korea worth up to $3,500 (5 million won). Hyundai is offering between 3 to 5 million won ($2,000 to $3,500) in savings across its entire EV lineup.

The IONIQ 5 and 6 models are discounted at 3 million won ($2,000), while the Kona Electric is up to 4 million won ($2,700) off. Hyundai is offering up to 5 million won ($3,500) on electric vans, including the ST1 and Porter II.

Hyundai’s low-cost Casper Electric and IONIQ 5 N models get a 1 million won ($700) discount. Even the Genesis GV60 is discounted at 3 million won ($2,000) off.

According to Hyundai, the IONIQ 5 can now be bought for as little as 44.38 million won ($30,700) in Korea, down from 54.1 million ($37,400).

The savings include the 3 million won company discount, a 590,000 won Seoul government subsidy, and a “government subsidy and manufacturer discount proportional subsidy of 6.13 million won ($4,200). If you factor in benefits from its “2025 EV Every Care” promo launched last month, Hyundai said buyers will save even more.

The new discounts come as Hyundai deals with slowing EV sales in Korea. According to Chosun, Hyundai is halting IONIQ 5 and Kona EV production for a week later this month due to sluggish demand.

What about the US?

Although Hyundai’s EV sales are slowing in South Korea, the company continues gaining traction in the US market.

Hyundai is coming off its best January sales month in the US ever. With over 54,500 vehicles sold, Hyundai’s US sales were up 15% compared to January 2024.

The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 set new January sales records with 2,250 and 871 models sold, respectively. Hyundai doesn’t provide a separate breakdown for Kona EV sales, but sales fell 34% across all powertrains.

With the upgraded IONIQ 5 and its first three-row electric SUV, the IONIQ 9, arriving this year, Hyundai expects to see even more momentum this year.

The new 2025 IONIQ 5 has an even more driving range of up to 318 miles, an upgraded interior and exterior design, and a NACS charging port to charge up at Tesla Superchargers.

Hyundai’s larger IONIQ 9 also includes a NACS port. Its 110.3 kWh battery provides a range of up to 335 miles, and its extended wheelbase opens to a spacious cabin with room for seven passengers.

Hyundai will build both electric SUVs at its new manufacturing plant in Georgia as it expands US production. The 2025 IONIQ 5 starts at $42,500, while IONIQ 9 prices will be revealed closer to launch. Hyundai opened IONIQ 9 pre-orders in Korea this week, starting at just 67.15 million won ($45,800). With incentives, Hyundai said actual purchase prices are closer to 60 million won ($41,00).

Of these two new flash offers joining the lineup, the most notable is EcoFlow’s DELTA Pro Portable Power Station bundled with a smart extra battery and a transfer switch for $3,499 shipped. Normally costing you $6,498, we’ve seen this particular combo rarely pop up, with August having seen the lowest rate of $3,696 during a similar sale. Tesla sales crash in another market and this time, it can't blame Model Y

Australia is the latest market to report a significant drop in Tesla sales for the first month of 2025, and in this case, the automaker can’t blame the Model Y changeover.

Earlier this week, we reported on European markets releasing car sales data for January, showing a massive drop in Tesla sales.

Tesla sold roughly half as many cars in Europe in January 2025 compared to January 2024.

Most industry watchers agree that there are two main reasons behind the sharp decline:

  • Elon Musk’s meddling in politics and spreading misinformation on social media is driving people away from Tesla
  • Tesla is transitioning Model Y production to the new design, which is affecting production and sales

Now, Australia is reporting its car sale numbers for January 2025, and it shows that Tesla is also having issues in this market.

In the first month of 2025, Tesla delivered only 739 vehicles – down 33% year-over-year.

This time, Tesla can’t blame the Model Y changeover as Model Y deliveries were actually up 20%.

Model 3 is the problem. Sales of Tesla’s cheapest model were down 63%.

This has been Tesla’s trend in Australia for the last year. In January 2023, Tesla delivered more than 2,000 vehicles in the country, but now it can only deliver a few hundred units. In 2024, Tesla’s sales dropped 17% for the whole year.

Electrek’s Take

At this point, it’s fairly clear that Tesla’s sales will be abysmal in Q1. Tesla will use the excuse of the Model Y changeover, and it will undoubtedly be partly true, but I think the Elon effect is also be a significant part of Tesla’s sales problem.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to calculate, but in the case of Australia, we can see that it’s part of the problem with the model breakdown.

Australia is not a huge car market and it won’t have a major impact on Tesla, but the trend appears to be similar in most markets.

The US is the biggest wildcard, as Elon still has a lot of fans there, obviously. US data is a bit more opaque and it will take a while for us to see an impact, if any.
